Your data, in plain language.

Please Don't Scroll ("PDS", "we", "us") is a Chrome extension and web dashboard that helps you block distracting sites. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we deliberately don't do with it. It applies to the extension, the dashboard at pleasedontscroll.com, and this website.

What we collect

When you create an account and use PDS, we store:

• Your email address, to authenticate you. Passwords are handled entirely by our authentication provider (Supabase), and we never see or store your password ourselves.
• The sites you add to your blocklist, and the names of any profiles you create (e.g. "Deep Work"), so we can sync them between the extension and your dashboard.
• Your blocking-mode preference (Friction or Strict) and whether you have an active Focus Pro subscription.
• If you subscribe to Focus Pro, a customer reference ID from our payment processor, Stripe, so we know which account to upgrade. We do not collect or store your card details; those go directly to Stripe.

What we don't do

The extension checks the site a tab is navigating to against your own blocklist locally, in the background. It does not send your general browsing history anywhere. We only know about the specific sites you chose to add to a blocklist, not the rest of what you browse. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising or analytics purposes.

Where your data lives

Your account and blocklist data are stored in our database, provided by Supabase (PostgreSQL with row-level security), so that only your authenticated account can read or write your own rows, not other users, and not us through the application itself. The website is hosted on Vercel. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which, like any web font provider, receives a request from your browser when a page loads. Payments are processed by Stripe, subject to Stripe's own privacy policy.

Session storage

We don't use tracking cookies. The web dashboard keeps your session in your browser's local storage, and the extension keeps it in Chrome's extension storage. Both stay on your device and are used only to keep you signed in.

Your rights

You can edit or delete anything in your blocklist and profiles directly from the dashboard at any time. To delete your account and all associated data entirely, use the Delete Account option under Settings in your dashboard. This immediately and permanently removes your account, profiles, and blocklist, and cancels any active subscription. It cannot be undone. Children's privacy

PDS is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of PDS after a change means you accept the update.
